Our Mattress Protectors are made from GOTS Certified 100% Organic Cotton Flannel. A brushed organic fabric which minimizes the penetration of dust mites without any filling for them to breed and hide in! Made with elasticised edging for easy removal as well as a snug and secure fit for your mattress. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to preserve the life of your Organic Mattress.
ADDED BENEFIT: These Organic Flannel Mattress Protectors are also a useful stand alone product when an organic mattress is not available. Something pure to put between you and a potentially reaction-causing old mattress. They could also be used as fitted sheets. Being a 100% organic flannel product, it is naturally water resistant but not waterproof.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: This fabric has NOT been chemically pre-shrunk, so these products have deliberately been made longer and may seem too long for the mattress to begin with, however they will shrink to the size they should be (mostly in length) after the first wash.
WASHING: Maximum temperature for washing organic cotton is 30 C as anything higher than this may degrade the fibres and reduce the lifespan of your product. Do not use commercial softening products as they may affect your health and alter the organic nature of the product. DRYING: Line dry; avoid strong sunlight which can cause bleaching and deterioration of this quality fabric. May be machine dried on low heat, keeping it below the maximum temperature of 30 C. Iron with steam if needed.
PLEASE NOTE: Although there are waterproof protectors available from some “organic” product suppliers, their products ARE made to be waterproof with non-organic compounds which many include rubber, plastic and toxic chemicals. For these reasons we do not promote the use of these products. To achieve ultra water resistance the healthiest alternative is to use our mattress protector pads or overlays in conjunction with these organic flannel mattress protectors.
CAUTION: Do not use plastic covers on an Organature mattress as it will promote condensation which can lead to mould. The same issue may occur if you use plastic covers on any conventional mattress too. That’s just one of the reasons why these Organic Flannel Mattress Protectors are so highly recommended and have always been one of our most popular products.

More about our GOTS Certified 100% Organic Brushed Flannel Fabric
Unlike flannelette, brushed flannel is woven with a better yarn from which the short fibres have been removed, so does not irritate sensitive skin, feel itchy or flare up allergies like conventional flannelette might.
It is not fluffy, but is a top quality BRUSHED 100% Organic Cotton. This ‘brushing’ minimizes the penetration of dust-mites.
In this organic fabric only the long cotton fibres are used, therefore eliminating the annoying short fibres that tickle the nose and eyes.
Flannelette produced in Asia frequently contains formaldehyde. Our Organic Flannel does not. The final brushing produces the superior ‘Brushed’ finish.
This is a sturdy, heavier weight, warmer fabric great for winter. We use this fabric to produce our range of mattress and pillow protectors.
285 GSM. Available in Natural only. Unbleached and un-dyed. Ideal for allergy or chemical sensitivity sufferers.
