GOTS Certified Fabrics and Fillings

All Organature fabrics and fillings are GOTS Certified. Our ‘natural’ fabrics are unbleached and un-dyed and are the ideal choice for people wanting to live as allergy-free and sensitivity-free as possible.

We will only use cotton that has Organic Certification under GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards), is grown from non-modified seeds, with no harmful chemicals used to grow and process the cotton. Unfortunately, Australian grown cotton does not meet any of these requirements. Read more in our article, Why we don’t use Australian Cotton.

ORGANIC BATHROOM AUSTRALIA: Our organic towels, bathrobes, bath mats, hooded baby towels, hand towels, hair towels, children’s dressing gowns and face washers are all made from GOTS Certified Cotton. Even the coloured fabrics are GOTS Certified. We don’t work with anything else. Your healthy bathroom begins here.

ABOUT THE ORGANIC FABRIC: DID YOU KNOW THIS? … To be able to weave terry towels and other knitted fabrics, the cotton yarn has to be ‘waxed’. With conventional towels this wax is removed with harsh chemical detergents. These are not permitted with organic certification; so organic towels are washed with soaping solution and are still a bit ‘waxy’ when they are new, but they soften beautifully with every wash. Naturally. Organically. Health-fully.

HOW TO CARE FOR ORGANIC COTTON TOWELS AND ROBES: The washing and drying temperature for 100% organic cotton items should not exceed 40 C. Washing any hotter will slowly destroy the fibre and shorten the life of the towel. We actually recommend less than 30 C is preferable. Towels require a few washes to remove the wax and make them good dryers which increases the absorbency. Tumble drying on LOW heat is also beneficial.
