The Sofa Bed
Our Hardwood Sofa Bed Frame sits upright as a sofa and folds down to create a double bed.
MADE TO ORDER in the Organature workshop using Australian hardwood. Using timber without chemical fumigation. There is no Spring mechanism in our Sofa Bed Design it requires manual placement for laying down flat which is a quick process and can be done in 2 minutes.

Organic Finishes
Choose raw and sanded, or with natural plant and mineral based oil.We source our oils from Livos who have a range of other colours, you may choose to purchase raw and sanded and apply the oils yourself, here is a link to the Livos website.
The Futon
Our sprung futon mattress is super comfortable and was designed by our founder Peter for people who do not want to live with chemicals, who have asthma, eczema, allergies or other chemical sensitivities.
It is made without binding so that the edges are not digging into legs. The seat and back both contain low profile spring units which when combined together in one casing act as both a couch and a bed.
Each spring unit is in an outer casing made from our Certified Organic Cotton and is placed tight around the springs so that the carded Certified Organic Cotton does not fall between the springs. This is followed by several layers Certified Organic Cotton and finished with our Certified Organic Cotton Flannel fabric. The combination of springs, organic fabrics and filling makes this product “breathe” and provides a sound, comfortable sofa bed.
Australia-wide Delivery
All Organature furniture, beds, mattresses, futons, bed bases and toppers are professionally delivered right throughout Australia by a specialist courier service. These items are carefully packaged and sent from our hygienic factory in Victoria and freight is charged according to your postcode. This cost is not included in your online order, and we will contact you to confirm the delivery charge. You are welcome to get a quote for shipping before placing your order. If you select ‘Pick up from store’ – this will still incur a $75 fee for transport from our craftsman/factory to our shop in Newhaven.
The Cover
Designed and made exclusively to fit the Organature Sofa Bed Futon, the zip cover is available in our 100% GOTS Certified Organic, heavy duty Canvas in Natural, Red, Green or Blue, or Organic Cotton Cord fabric in Madder Red, or Bark Brown (washes as an olive green)
Due to the width of the Fabrics, covers may require a join down the centre. This seam/join is in the centre on the length, thus making it run along the fold as the sofa, and between the middle of the two sides as the mattress. Made like a square bag with walls and zipper along 3 sides of the cover for ease of use. The cover is slightly loose to allow for the folding of the futon into couch position. Please note that covers are custom made.

Assembly references (if required) are added by hand using a non-toxic permanent marker. These markers do not outgas when dry and are the safest option available
