GOTS Certified Organic Suede Flannel Fabric – Natural

$18.00

Description

GOTS Certified 100% Organic Suede Flannel Fabric available for sale by the metre. Org-Suede Flannel is not flannelette. It is woven with a better yarn from which the short fibres have been removed, so does not irritate sensitive skin, feel itchy or flare up allergies like conventional flannelette might. It is not fluffy, but is a top quality BRUSHED 100% Organic Cotton. This ‘brushing’ minimizes the penetration of dust-mites. In this organic fabric only the long cotton fibres are used, therefore eliminating the annoying short fibres that tickle the nose and eyes. Flannelette produced in Asia frequently contains formaldehyde. Our Organic Fannel does not. The final brushing produces the superior ‘Suede’ finish.

This is a sturdy, heavier weight, warmer fabric great for winter. We use this fabric to produce our range of mattress and pillow protectors.

  • 285 GSM.
  • Available in Natural only. Unbleached and un-dyed. Ideal for allergy or chemical sensitivity sufferers.
  • Width: 290 cm.
  • Minimum length 2 metres and then in 1 metre increments up to a maximum of 20 metres.

IMPORTANT: There may be up to 10% shrinkage of this organic fabric when washed. It only shrinks noticeably one way. Please allow when measuring your patterns and when ordering. We deliberately make our mattress and pillow protectors a little larger to allow for this shrinkage and do a wash test with each new batch. Because it’s organic cotton, it is never consistent, and each crop and batch can be different. If this fabric is to be made into curtains, we advise you make the curtains without a hem and hang first. The fabric can drop after hanging and this way you will be able to hem once they have dropped, to the required hem height. (This is good advice for all fabric to be used for curtaining.)

Fabric is cut to order, as per standard policy, we cannot accept returns or issue refunds or credits. Fabric can take up to two weeks before cut due to the size of the rolls and our team experiencing high demand.

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately we cannot cut more than 10 metres at one time due to safety concerns in our studio. Therefore when ordering more than 10 metres, please specify two lengths you would like the fabric cut. An example of 12 metres, could be 10 metres and 2 metres, OR 6 and 6 metres. You can write your two preferred cutting lengths in the customer comments section when placing your order.
